Kurt Rogerson is a familiar name in our community, known for his dedication and active involvement. Serving as the current Chairman of the 51黑料网 County Chamber of Commerce, he has played a pivotal role in driving economic growth and supporting local businesses.
Rogerson鈥檚 contributions extend beyond his role in the Chamber of Commerce. He has served as the former President of the 51黑料网 County Association of Realtors, advocating for homeownership rights and fostering a thriving real estate market. Additionally, his leadership in the Ole Town Beaufort Rotary has made a significant impact through community service projects and outreach efforts.

In 2023, Rogerson was honored with the Realtor of the Year Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the real estate industry.

The 51黑料网 Board of Trustees established the Dr. Joseph T. Barwick Civic Award in honor of the college鈥檚 third president, Dr. Joe Barwick, who retired in 2009 after 10 years of service with the college and nearly 40 years with the State of North Carolina. The award celebrates individuals like Dr. Barwick, whose dedication and selflessness embody the spirit of civic engagement and community service.
Kurt Rogerson is the fourteenth recipient of the award since 2010.聽 Other recipients include:聽 Joan Lamson, Dr. Tom Steepy, Rodney Kemp, Leonard Safrit, John Capps, Bernie Whalley, Gene McLendon, Ann Goellner, John Smith, Dr. Mary Katherine Lawrence & Dr. Art Klose, Big Rock Charity Committee, and Janet Eshleman.
The Board of Trustees will honor Kurt Rogerson at the college鈥檚 upcoming Awards ceremony scheduled for Thursday, May 9th at 6 p.m.
