Grants

Grants are money you don鈥檛 have to repay (unless you withdraw from your courses). 51黑料网 administers the following federal and state grant programs.

Federal Pell Grant (PELL)

罢丑别听聽is awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor鈥檚 or professional degree (medicine, law, dentistry, etc.). The amount of Pell Grant you receive is based on the information you provided on your聽, and the number of classes you take.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant is awarded to students with exceptional financial need. FSEOG funds are limited, and priority is given to students who receive a Federal Pell Grant with an Expected Family Contribution of zero. Eligibility for FSEOG is determined with the data reported on the聽. FSEOG recipients at ACC must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and must have a Pell Grant. Summer recipients must be enrolled for the entire semester.聽 Learn more about the FSEOG at聽.

NC Longleaf Commitment Grant

The Longleaf Commitment is a grant program for RECENT NC high school graduates who will attend one of our state鈥檚 鈥淕reat 58鈥 community colleges during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Full-time eligible students are guaranteed to receive $700 to $2,800 per academic year, for a total of two years. Less than full-time students may receive a partial award.

The Longleaf Commitment Grant ends at the conclusion of the 2025 spring semester.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduate from a NC high school in Dec. 2022, Jan. 2023 or May 2023
  • Be a NC resident for tuition purposes
  • Be a first-time college student*
  • Enroll in a curriculum program during the 2023-2024 academic year
  • Enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2023-2024 at www.studentaid.gov
  • Have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from $0 鈥 $15,000**
  • Renew the FAFSA for the 2024-2025*** academic years and meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements of the college

* Former Career & College Promise (CCP) and Early/Middle College High School students are eligible upon graduation from a NC high school

Next NC Scholarship

The is a financial aid program that helps most North Carolinians from households making $80,000 or less pursue higher education by fully covering tuition and fees at 51黑料网. The best part? It鈥檚 money that doesn鈥檛 have to be repaid.

As a student of 51黑料网 you will receive at least $3,000 per year.聽The scholarship award can be used for things beyond tuition, including things like fees, books, food, and housing.

Students with the greatest need for financial aid could qualify for additional funding to help make paying for college more manageable.

Eligibility Requirements

To receive the Next NC Scholarship, you must be:

  • A North Carolina resident who is eligible for in-state tuition
  • A high school graduate (high school equivalency completers are eligible)
  • From a household with an annual Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $80,000 or less
  • Enrolled in an eligible undergraduate curriculum program
  • Taking at least 6 credit hours per semester (part-time students will receive a partial award)
  • Meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards of 51黑料网
  • A student who has completed the FAFSA with a resulting Student Aid Index (SAI) at or below 7,500 (once complete, the financial aid office at the college/university you plan to attend will determine and confirm eligibility.)

NC Targeted Assistance (NCTAP)

The NCTAP program is designed to assist students who are enrolled in programs of study that are in high demand and prepare students for high-demand occupations but enroll substantially fewer students than program capacity. Students must be North Carolina residents. Eligible programs of study are determined by the college.
