Launching a New Era for Women鈥檚 Soccer
鈥淲ith the international growth in popularity of women’s soccer and strong teams in our local high schools, 51黑料网 is excited to launch our Division II women’s soccer team in fall 2026,鈥 said 51黑料网 President Dr. Tracy Mancini. 鈥淐oach Robbie Park brings the experience, vision, and passion needed to build a competitive team. We are thrilled to welcome him to lead our Kraken.鈥
Park holds a UEFA B License and has coached in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and China. Most recently, he served as Volunteer Assistant Coach for Northwest Mississippi Community College Women鈥檚 Soccer. There, he helped the program secure back-to-back NJCAA National Championships.
As a result, Park understands what it takes to build and sustain a championship-level team. He plans to use that experience to establish a strong foundation at 51黑料网.
Building a Championship Culture
鈥淩obbie brings the experience and character we want leading this program,鈥 said Athletics Director Scott Lane. 鈥淗e has coached at a high level around the world. More importantly, he has seen firsthand how to build and maintain a championship NJCAA program. That perspective will be critical as we build Kraken Women鈥檚 Soccer from the ground up. We are confident in his vision, standards, and the culture he will create.鈥
In addition to his collegiate coaching work, Park is well known across North Carolina. He founded the European Soccer Training Academy (ESTA), a high-performance development program for youth and college-bound athletes.
Currently, he leads both the Boys鈥 and Girls鈥 Varsity Soccer programs at Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston. Previously, he served as Assistant Head Coach at Gretna FC in Scotland. He also worked as a full-time youth academy coach with elite clubs and international schools in China. Furthermore, he gained valuable development experience with North Carolina FC Youth.
A Vision for Eastern North Carolina
鈥淔irst, I want to thank Dr. Tracy Mancini, Scott Lane, and Wrenn Johnson for their trust,鈥 Park said. 鈥淚 am excited to launch and grow Kraken Women鈥檚 Soccer. It is an honor to help advance competitive soccer in Eastern North Carolina.鈥
He continued, 鈥淢y goal is to build a program the region can be proud of. I want our team to connect with the community through strong core values. The Crystal Coast is a tremendous recruiting advantage. Because of that, we can attract talented student-athletes who want both a competitive experience and a great place to live and study.鈥
Park emphasized his commitment to long-term success. 鈥淢y family and I are rooted in this area, so this opportunity means even more to us. We will work to create a strong platform that prepares student-athletes for success beyond their time as a Kraken.鈥
A Strong Playing and Academic Background
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Park trained in prestigious academies including Motherwell FC, St. Mirren FC, and Queen鈥檚 Park FC. He later played collegiately at the University of New Brunswick. During his career there, he won three conference championships and earned national silver and bronze medals.
In addition, Park holds a Master鈥檚 degree in Sport Management and a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Recreation & Sport Studies.
Park and his family 鈥 his wife Paulina, son Nicholas, and daughter Ellie 鈥 proudly call Eastern North Carolina home.
