Registration Information

Student Holds

A student hold may prevent you from registering for classes. Check the notifications section in聽聽for any student holds you may have. Allow up to 24 hours for a student hold to be removed from your record after you have completed the requirement.

Schedule Changes

Students can add and drop classes in which they are enrolled during the schedule change period at the start of each semester or session.

See important dates and deadlines聽for the schedule change dates for your semester or session.

If you are enrolled in classes before the first day of the semester or session in which you wish to enroll, you may add and drop classes for that session or for a later session.

If you are not already enrolled in classes in the session in which you wish to enroll, you cannot register for a class after the session has started.聽You may register during the schedule change period for available courses in a later session.

Drop/withdrawal Penalties

Avoid penalties by reviewing the drop/withdrawal rules below before you drop a class. Areas that are affected include financial aid, veterans鈥 benefits, and academic standing.

Tuition refunds: You are eligible for a聽partial refund聽during schedule change periods. To receive a 100% refund, you must drop a class before the semester/session begins.

Course Drops/Withdrawals

Know the Consequences Before You Drop or Withdraw

If you want to drop or withdraw from a class after it has started, you must complete certain steps. Unless you take these steps, you will remain enrolled in the class even if you do not attend.

IMPORTANT: If you stop submitting work or attending the course and do not officially drop or withdraw, you will receive a “UW” grade. A 鈥淯W鈥 grade is submitted when an instructor withdrawals a student with the equivalent of an F grade.

Course Drop/Withdrawal Instructions

Communication with your instructor is important prior to dropping a course. The instructor might be able to offer tutoring sessions, resources, or help in a struggling class.

When meeting with your advisor about dropping a course, discuss how this will impact your graduation deadline.
